View of Back Lake from backyard of Back Lake Lane.
The park was nice enough to install a cam so that residents can check up on the happenings on the lake. How surprised I was to discover the cam was installed in my backyard. Now perhaps I will catch a glimpse of whatever lake monster is making such commotion... for late at night when I'm about to drift off, I sometimes hear what has to be gurgling in the distance...
Introducing Steve Egghead.
My friendly neighbor and I though it a good idea to shake ourselves out of our end-of-winter blahs. Via firing up the Ouija, of course. We switched on the Lava Lamp, lit some candles, and summoned a spirit. We asked the spirit its name, and it spelled "S-T-E-V-E-E-G-H-E-D." We asked Steve what year he was among the living, and he replied "XVI." Given the literacy rates of most people in the year 1051, we assumed Steve's surname to be "Egghead." We asked what he had to tell us

'Nother Nor'easter...
Looks as though Lopstick is in for a Valentine's Day snow job, along with a hearty potion of the rest of the northeastern United States... But my heart will be content as I bask in the glow of my fireplace, Lava Lamp, and purrful lap kitty. Waiting out the storm will be lovely while watching from my window...

Snowful Things
A snowful thing blew through Lopstick a couple of days ago. Now the temperatures are well below freezing all this week. I haven't been out to the compost pile since last month, and my offerings for the woodland creatures yet remain piled outside my backdoor, which I can only open a crack now (from the snow, not from the piled-up offerings). A frigid, glaring landscape. But the crabapple tree looks dandy dressed in white!
