How Not to Die Dessert


I iterate that Dr. Greger says it's a good idea to not die, and again, I agree. In exchange for sharing this awesome idea, I received a 2018 calendar with Greger-approved, life-loving, cruelty-free vegan recipes.

From "The How Not to Die Cookbook Calendar," I present (my attempt at)...

Berry Chocolate Chia Pudding

1/2 avocado

1 1/4 C berries (such as raspberries)

3 T 100% pure cocoa / cacao powder

2 T almond butter

1 1/2 C almond milk

date syrup:

Fill a measuring cup with 1/2 C of Medjool dates, chopped to remove pits. Add water to fill to the 2 cup mark. Add 1 t lemon juice. Dump into a whir machine and whir. NOTE: This makes 2 C date syrup; the recipe calls for 1/2 C.

1/4 C chia seeds

optional garnish: berries / nuts / etc

Again, you can pretty much guess what to do with the ingredients. Make the date syrup, measure 1/2 C, and reserve the rest. Dump all ingredients, including the 1/2 C date syrup, and excluding the optional garnish, in a whir machine and whir. Scoop into a container and whisk in chia seeds. Refrigerate overnight. (Synopsizing to promote creativity and independent thought.)

Optionally garnish and serve cold.
